About the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève

Every year the top watch brands from around the world submit their finest luxury timepieces for consideration at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix (Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, GPHG). After an initial preselection, a shortlist of final candidates in a range of categories selected to represent the diversity of watch production are meticulously appraised by a jury that consists of watch experts, journalists and collectors from around the world. In autumn, the annual awards ceremony announces the winner in each category and awards the prestigious "Aiguille d'Or" ("Golden Hand") trophy to the timepiece that the jury chooses as the best of the best.
